Forth Floor at Harvey Nicks did us proud, on a night when the restaurant was full with Christmas P{arty shoppers. One main course not available, but we were given a very nice alternative.

The Forth Floor is a regular eating place for me when I'm Edinburgh. My latest lunchtime visit didn't disappoint but didn't quite hit the heights. I started with seared tuna, which was fine; the main course of roast lamb was excellent and generously portioned, especially accompanied by a mushroom stuffed with garlic, vegetables and wrapped in bacon. I ended with a tasty banana pudding tart, but my partner's mulled wine pannacotta was the dessert to go for. Excellent wine and cocktails to start.

Harvey Nicholls fourth floor in Edinburgh is always a delightful experience; very chilled atmostphere and the view is lovely. Food is always predictably good and the service is pleasant.

Harvey Nicks, Edinburgh. great view and wine list. Variety of main courses was disappointing. Ambience surprisingly good for a department store. However would try the Brasserie next time.

My wife and I had a fairly informal lunch at Forth Floor. I had grilled salmon to start, my wife had ravioli, both of which were excellent. For mains I had lamb and my wife had risotto, again both of which were excellent. There is a very extensive wine list at prices for all and the staff are very approachable and obliging. The setting is wonderful, with open views over the north of Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth. In all a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend it.

On a sunny august evening the Forth Floor Restaurant Harvey Nichols is too bright - blinding even with large window blinds down. Much better dining room with it gets dark. Food tasty but nothing special and a bit pricy. Very good wine list - HN own labels excellent value.

Food was good, although very little to choose from with a risotto for starter as well as a main that also came with risotto and the only meat on offer was chicken and partridge which again are similar.
