About Duke's of Houndsditch
Duke's of Houndsditch has the ambience of a private men's club without the exclusionary door policy. In summer the terrace comes into its own with outside tables for lighter bar fare, including pizzas and pastas. What's cooking: Utterly classic Italian cooking, with favourites like scaloppine marsala, spaghetti al frutti di mare, and bistecca al barolo. The in-house bars pulse with activity. Very good wine list.
Opening hours:
Mon - Fri 11.30 - 4.30. Bar opens at 11.30 - late. Closed weekends and Bank Holidays.

nice location, very quiet for a lunch timeReview
A rainy Tuesday lunchtime at Dukes in the downstairs restaurant. It was like a throw back to the few city haunts that were available in the 80s. The waiter was lovely and the bbq chicken on skewer with rice was simple but tasty, the curry was good too. This restaurant should be preserved for old times sake, it made a cheerful change from minimalistic chic!Visitors
