In Edinburgh for the holiday we visited Duck's on Christmas Eve and enjoyed the experience immensely. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, the food was delicious and we found some excellent old friends on the incredibly well put together wine list. A find and we will definitely revisit next time in town.

Duck's @ Le Marche Noir is a small, discreet restaurant off the beaten track in Edinburgh. It offers excellent food at reasonable prices and an outstanding wine list to suit all budgets. Ambiance is superb, with no distracting musak, and ample space between tables. Highly recommended.

ducks was fantastic, the highlight of our trip to edinburgh, 3 courses for 28£ was cheap, excellent and simple food. The wine we chose was the sommeliers selection at 19.50£ which was very good. On the whole, excellent, just a shame im back in london now, would return most definatley

I found my visit to Duck's @ Le Marche Noir to be highly enjoyable. The staff were courteous and helpful without being overbearing. Starters and mains utilised local ingredients to excellent effect, the venison in paticular was divine. However, the desserts being relatively uninspiring, could be improved upon. The £28 dinner menu presented good value for money and combined with the comprehensive wine list would certainly merit a return visit.

The food was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. I was slightly disappointed that there was no beef on the menu as I had enjoyed it so much the last time I was there, but hope it might be there the next time I visit. My brother and his wife were visiting from Canada and were very impressed. Highly recommended.

Ducks @ Le Marche Noir is worth venturing beyond the usual city haunts. The fixed price 3 course dinner was good value for money particularly when you consider the quality of food being served. I think some of our party would prefer a 2 course option in the evening - they offer 2 & 3 course lunch menu. We did however all agree the wine list was fab with choices to suit most tastes & budgets. Malcolm (Duck) even came out to the restaurant & chatted to all the diners which was a nice touch.
