About Ducks @ Le Marche Noir
Duck’s at Le Marché Noir, found nestled in Edinburgh’s leafy Eyre Place, has been a favourite amongst locals for almost 20 years. The inviting dining room, complete with crisp white linen and candlelit crystal glasses, looks and feels like a traditional Parisian bistro. The understated elegance compliments the assured Scottish-French menu. Favourites include, char-grilled rump of Ayrshire veal with roast onion, truffled Pecorino, artichoke, calves tongue, macaroni and meat juices, warm doughnuts with a dark chocolate and Pedro Ximenez pot.
The owner, famous local restaurateur Malcolm Duck, is a wine aficionado, hence his cellar is full with delights from Burgundy, Australia and Alsace. The dining experience at Duck’s at Le Marché Noir is akin to attending an intimate and private dinner party. It is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.

In Edinburgh for the holiday we visited Duck's on Christmas Eve and enjoyed the experience immensely. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, the food was delicious and we found some excellent old friends on the incredibly well put together wine list. A find and we will definitely revisit next time in town.Review
Duck's @ Le Marche Noir is a small, discreet restaurant off the beaten track in Edinburgh. It offers excellent food at reasonable prices and an outstanding wine list to suit all budgets. Ambiance is superb, with no distracting musak, and ample space between tables. Highly recommended.Review
Ducks- very good. Food is on the (good) inventive side. one foam was a bit pungent but overall a really good experience.Visitors
