About Ducks @ Kilspindie House Hotel
Ducks at Kilspindie is run by Malcolm Duck, an award-winning Edinburgh restaurateur. Kilspindie House Hotel itself is a charming white-washed seventeenth century building with twenty-six rooms, and the antique furniture and open fire give Ducks restaurant a formal-yet-inviting vibe. Head chef Ben Sparrow was nominated as Scottish Chef of the year, and the a la carte menu uses locally sourced Scottish food such as duck and halibut. A favourite is the filet of Scottish ‘Black Gold’ Angus beef with beef marrow tartlet. The wine list is extensive, so if you’re a guest at the hotel you can attempt to work your way through it and stumble safely upstairs. Now that’s our idea of a good night out.

we booked Ducks@Kilspindie for lunch on sunday i had mussels to start which were lovely, the main course Belly Pork was overcooked and rather dry although the flavour was good. The chocolate fondant sweet was lovely and well presented. unfortunately the service was very slow we waited ages between courses, i would go back and give it another go possibly for dinnerReview
