Dorrius, Amsterdam Excellent service and wonderful food. Great ambience. We dined on Christmas day and it was a great experience, very traditional venue. Not the lowest cost restaurant but certainly value for money for that special occasion.

Four of us (including a Dutchman) had a fantastic time at Dorrius. Traditional Dutch grub, fantastic service and a friendly atmosphere. I would fully recommend coming here for a truly Dutch experience.

At Dorrius you have the option to try traditional dutch fare or more modern cuisine. The service was superb - very attentive and informative,

Staff were fantastic at helping to book a corporate 35 person dinner. All went smoothly and food was a winner with all.

I ate at Dorrius with my new boss. Admitedly it was a late booking (10pm sitting), but it was a Thursday night. Food was good, wine was good, service was good. It was a bit empty though, and the fact the toilets are in the adjacent hotel takes away some of the "traditional character" - suddenly I felt like I was in a hotel restaurant.

Wow!!! Part of the Crown Plaza in Amsterdam, this is a brilliant old style Dutch restaurant. Dorrius is about 5 minutes from Central Station and is on the 1, 2, 5, 17 tram lines. The food has an alternative modern European menu if you do not fancy Dutch food. Go there hungry, the portions are huge.

Dorrius is really a restaurant to recommend. It is situated centrally in Amsterdam, so really easy to get to. The food is a mixture of traditional Dutch and modern international. We went for the Dutch menu, which was delicious - the hunters' pie, and the salt cod fish dish prepared at the table were fantastic. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Even the bread and pork scratchings to start were very enjoyable.

Dorrius sells itself on high quality traditional Dutch food. Well, it may be traditional but unless they find some way of updating stewed beef and boiled potatoes, it isn't too exciting. I had better traditional hotpot in a cafe at a third of the price. Although the ambience is pretty good, the place doesn't quite manage to hide that it's attached to an anonymous hotel chain either. Poor value and not recommended.
