About Dilli Indian Restaurant
An Indian restaurant where you eat your way to good health? Result. Dilli is a Michelin-rated Altrincham restaurant, one of several owned by chef-restaurateur Kuldeep Singh. The restaurant specializes in the ancient art of Ayurvedic cooking, where ingredients are used for their effects on specific parts of the body: cinnamon for headaches, cloves for toothache, ginger for colds and so on. Dilli scores points for its unusual menu, fresh ingredients and complex sauces. Start with carefully-spiced duck samosa, encased in light, crispy pastry and served with proper chutney, the move on to tandoori shell-on prawns, marinated in yoghurt and flavoured with caraway, saffron and fresh coriander. Curries include fresh lobster pepper fry and rabbit in onion gravy, with chillies, garlic and mango powder. Dilli (the original name of Delhi) is Singh’s first venture outside London and a welcome addition to the UK’s North West frontier.

Dilli is an excellent choice for Indian cuisine in Altrincham although you do have to be prepared for the service to take a little longer when the restaurant is busy it wouldn't change it as one of my favourite restaurants.Review
Dilli is always slightly disorganised but Friday was worse than normal. Am also getting a bit bored by the lack of eye contact and social grace of the staff. The slightly aloof look works in a major "posh" restaurant but simply leads to frustration when you cant catch someones eye to order more drinks etc. Food great however and will probably go back for that alone!Review
