About DCH
One of York’s best restaurants, the DCH sits opposite one of Europe’s most magnificent Gothic cathedrals, York Minster. Not that you have to look outside for stunning views. Inside, digital wallpaper displays magnified images of the historic stonework. And polished oak tables are impeccably arranged with beautiful big wine glasses and ergonomic designer cutlery. Star of the show, however, is Andrew Bingham award-winning seasonal Modern English cooking. Expect wonderful local produce such as Yorkshire beef, York blue cheese, and fish from Grimsby and Whitby.
Please be aware a credit card is required to confirm all bookings for this restaurant. Absolutely nothing will be charged to the card unless in the event of a no show, which will be charged at £7.50 per diner.

DCH in York provided very attentive service with excellant food well presented.There was a limited memnu it being a Saturday lunch but the menu did offer good choices and the kitchen dealt with one of my guests allergy with no problem at all.I would revisit DCH next time my travels take me to York.

A nice restaurant but not very inspiring. We felt the chefs put too much emphasis on presentation and the food was a little disappointing. A rather expensive, not bad wine list though.Review
I wanted to enjoy a high quality meal at a good price and following the reviews I have seen for DCH in York I was very pleased to see they were correct. The food is wonderful, although I felt all the dishes required vegetable sides as they were so rich. The venison was fantastically cooked and the wine list extremely well thought out and complimentary with the menu. The service was excellent although the background music terrible. I would still recommend it to anyone just for the view alone.Visitors
