About City Cafe - Glasgow
When City Cafe in Glasgow's swanky, modern new City Inn chose Richard Lyth, they found a man who would take this hotel dining room and make it some place special. The modern decor helps, all right, as does the location and the spiffy staff, but he is using all his expertise to create stunning modern cuisine that incorporates the best of Scottish raw materials. Try starter of Loch Fyne smoked salmon with lemon and capers, then main course of new season roast chump of lamb with chorizo ratatouille and confit new potatoes, and pudding of pecan and toffee tart with creme fraiche.
Speaking of location, the fantastic riverside terrace on Finnieston Quay is the place to soak up the sun and a very relaxed and welcoming ambience. And with SECC right next door, City Cafe is the place to meet before and chill after concerts and events.

Sublime food...not a scrap left on either plate and we even disgraced ourselves by ordering dessert! The ambience is perfect, and you cannot help but enjoy the wine, food and atmosphere.Review
Booked for Friday lunchtime but was disappointed to find that majority of starter dishes were 'off' after a problem with the supplier. General quality of the food that we had was good although we felt that there was too much emphasis on cream in the dishes which was not ideal for a lunch menu. Staff were very friendly and attentive.Review
Was a Monday lunchtime so was fairly quiet, and therefore not much atmosphere. Was however very disappointed with the food - just a bit bland, and a bit expensive for what it was.Visitors
