About Cerise Restaurant & Bar at The Forbury Hotel
Cerise Restaurant and Bar in Reading’s stylish The Forbury Hotel is a chic and sexy brasserie deluxe, decked out with candy-striped and chocolate leather banquettes, cappuccino cloths and white china. Buzzy, classy but informal, it works just as well for a quick, off-the-cuff bite for lunch as it does for a romantic dinner or a long-planned family celebration. The restaurant menu changes every couple of months. You might begin with hot seared foie gras, mango and chilli chutney and toasted brioche, or Iceberg parcel of Brixham crab with ribbons of marinated vegetables. Mains could be trio of rabbit with sweet shallot purée and tarragon jus, or a perfectly-cooked grilled organic rib-eye steak with home-cut chips and béarnaise sauce. Still got room in that pudding compartment? Try the decadent Chocolate Four Ways, or an iced lemon parfait with basil and yoghurt sorbet and a compote of summer fruits. The wine list caters for all tastes and has some interesting and unusual choices. If you needed a reason to visit Reading, Cerise is definitely it.

Initially I was concerned having read some of the toptable reviews about Cerise with reference to portion control as I am a girl who LOVES her food - but I have never heard such poppy cock in all my life. The food was brilliant, and my husband and I were too stuffed to eat a desert! I recommend it for a lovely night out - I am sorry the reviewer who thought the food portions were too small may put others off eating here. There was too much on my plate even for me!Review
Cerise Restaurant & Bar at The Forbury Hotel, Visited for Sunday lunch. Nicely presented food, but not overly memorable taste for the price. Very attentive staff. Excellent wine listReview
We took a client to Cerise on Wednesday lunch time. It was busy (however it is Xmas season) and we were impressed by the surrondings - the hotel looked lovely. The food was good - although service was pretty slow and not eating meat the mains selection was a little limited for me. My companions also thought that the portions were small (she was worried about taking her husband there for the booking they had coming up!). I liked the venue overall and the bar looked great too for pre/post drinks.Visitors
