Fully booked on a Sunday game day, the hostess nevertheless pulled an extra chair for our unannounced third diner at Centotre. We shared a wonderful pizza as a starter with yummy cheese and crisp thin crust and then went on to enjoy equally tasty pasta or gnocci. In a converted bank, the noise can sometimes be overwhelming, but high ceilings help spread the sound. Wine list being updated next week.

As always Centotre was buzzing - very much a place to be seen. The service was excellent, attentive staff who were extremely pleasant. We each had pasta and each dish was highly rated especially the spaghetti with zucchini. Good choice of wine by the glass too.

This was my second visit to Centotre and I will be returning. Our starter which we shared was superb, with three varities of topping on crusty bread. Especially tasty was the blue cheese and honey topping which is unusaul for me as I don't often go for such strong cheeses. We both had a pasta main dish which we thoroughly enjoyed although I would have preffered a little less of the pasta dish but have it served with a green salad or bread. The puddings were scrumptious and generous.

Centotre is a lovely place to eat - there is a very buzzy atmosphere and the building is magnificent. We had requested the pre-theatre menu but were a bit disappointed to find it only had 2 dishes with no vegetarian option. A starter of mozzarella salad contained the best mozzarella we'd ever eaten but the set main course of pasta with meatballs was bland and quite tasteless. Pizza was great though! I'd go back but with lower expectations...

Enjoyed my meal at Centrotre, Edinburgh. The service was friendly and efficient and the food some notches above the average Italian restaurant in Scotland. The food certainly supported their claim to use the "freshest and most authentic ingredients". Good atmosphere too.
