Benihana in Swiss Cottage was a great meal. Food was really good, but only at the price available on the toptable deal. Chef was really great at the table.

with a little more attention to detail and thought this could be a very nice venue as food and potential is very good. Although service is very friendly, it seemed very disorganised and was too slow, especially considering that the restaurant was not even particularly busy at the time.

Benihana's staff were friendly and attentive- as my partner had never eaten teppanyaki style before, this proved an excellent choice. Able to accommodate a vegetarian easily although charged more than the deal which is always a shame!

Not the most brilliant food, but Benihana is still a charming place with good service and friendly atmosphere. £16-50 for a set dinner is a good value for money. Overall - a nice venue for a night out with friends.

Fun night for the Mother's Visit, I tried the Swiss Cottage one for a change and was still very good but preferred the one in Chelsea. We had a nice chef who was obviously new and in training under the watchful eye of another chef. Only thing that was a negative was that they finished up and left before 3 of us had had our 2nd main course of prawns!!! didn't want to be too moany tho as we were full as it was and happy to put it down to nerves!

We went for lunch at Benihana on Sunday and though the food preparation show was spectatcular, we were disapponted with the quantity of food offered as we do not feel it represented value for money. The toilet was cold and out-dated and the flush in one did not work and was full of toilet paper. The saving grace was that the meal was booked through toptable which meant we saved on the usual price. I don't think we'll be going back in a hurry.

I like Benihana at Swiss Cottage. The food is good and is prepared right in front of you, by a quirky chef. If you are in a small group be aware that you might be seated next to strangers, but they don't have to be strangers for long... Be sure to ask for the Toptable deal as they will probably just give you a normal menu and not explain anything and the service at times can be very slow. Also, it can get very hot (since the hotplate is inches from your plate) so take layers and peel off.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
