About Baumanns Brasserie
Located in the charming market town of Coggeshall, Baumanns Brasserie brings a metropolitan touch to the heart of Essex. The 16th century building was originally converted into a restaurant by restaurateur Peter Langan and now boasts a relaxed and welcoming space with smart but comfortable décor – ideal for dinner with friends, family or clients. The menus, put together by award-winning chef Mark Baumann, feature top-quality, seasonal ingredients, with all seafood sourced from London’s Billingsgate Market. With an a la carte, prix fixe, and light lunch menu on offer, there is something for everyone. We love the potted brown shrimps and crab; followed by the Slow stoved rabbit & pork rosti with Champagne vinegar & shallot sauce and the Curly Wurly cheesecake to finish.
Please note that a credit card is required for Friday and Saturday evenings. A £10 cancellation charge applies for any weekend bookings cancelled less than 24 hours beforehand.

The Boxing Day menu was varied and even more elaborate than usual, and the quality of food and service were amongst the best experienced in the UK. Although a bit pricey, the overall result was excellent and my hearty recommendation is well deserved.Review
Sunday lunch at Baumann's Brasserie offers great food and choice in a relaxed atmosphere. Staff are attentive without being intrusive. It was our second visit for lunch and it was equally good as the first. Haven't been there in the evening but I imagine it would be a cosy retreat. Great value for money too.Review
Visited Baumanns for a second time having been disappointed with the service on the first occasion but thought I would give it a second chance and must say that it was a lot better. There were only two people waiting on but the evening was fairly quite. I am not sure how they would have managed had the restaurant had more diners. Overall, glad that I gave them a second chance as the food has always been good and I did not want the service to stop me from visiting again.Visitors
