For classic and tasty Indian curries in an elegant environment you can’t beat Bangalore Tandoori Restaurant in Edinburgh’s Home Street. Bangalore has been in business for over 20 years, and is always buzzing with regulars who keep coming back for the delicious Chicken Tikka Masala and King Prawn Jalfrazie. The menu takes inspiration from Southern Indian cuisine, and combines traditional recipes with modern flavours and fresh Halal ingredients. The restaurant is named after the Garden City of Bangalore, a popular watering hole in the days of the Raj, and the humble staff subscribe to the philosophy that every guest honours them when they visit for a second time. We have a sneaking suspicion they must feel very honoured indeed.

Bangalore Restaurant offers a good quality curry with massive servings - a hearty Scotsman will not go hungry! Unfortunately the service was very rushed, with my meal arriving before I'd scarcely consumed half a poppadom - to me that shouts microwave. Finally, the nail in the coffin - I asked for an espresso and was served an intensly strong instant coffee. Ugh, undrinkable!Review
Service a bit confused, especially as they sat 2 members of our party a 2 diferent tables. portions are large, starters, 1 between 2 is enough. Good food though.Visitors
