About Awana

Awana, in Sloane Avenue, is one of the most stylish places you’ll ever sample Malaysian street food. Holding the title for London's finest Malaysian experience, the bar, satay bar and restaurant is a welcoming blend of lush silk panels, glass screens and dark wood interiors. Fine Malaysian eateries are a rarity in London, which makes this even more appealing – no wonder a young, well-heeled Chelsea crowd flock here to sample the imaginative and extensive dishes. Try Kari ayam (corn fed chicken curry with coconut, potato and snake beans) or a spicy Sambal. Never had Malaysian food before? The Malaysian Journey tasting menu is a great place to start.

Please note - at lunchtimes last orders for food is 2pm. A credit card is required to reserve a table for 6 diners and above, if there is availability - this is simply to secure your booking, absolutely no money will be charged to the card except in the case of late cancellations. A fee of £15 per person will be charged for a cancellation within 48 hours or a no show - the restaurant will call you direct to retrieve these details.

Awana is a good place to try on the toptable half price deal, but I wouldn't pay full price. The food was good, the menu is huge and they do some really amazing non-alcoholic cocktails - but Malaysian food can be very good and very cheap and so I don't think there is a need to pay this much. Service excellent and nice toilets!

Awana has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The food was great, full of flavours with plenty of variety on them menu. The salt and pepper prawns to start are recommended, as well as the satay skewers of meat or fish. Would highly recommend the lobster and seafood noodles as a main course - full of flavour and generous amounts of seafood! The Toptable 50% off also made it reasonably priced. Nice cocktails too.
