Au Bout des Doigts(At your fingertips)in the heart of Old Lille is all about surprise. The dining room is set in an old piano warehouse where the space gives play to the asymmetrical furniture and the invigorating colours. The menu concept all challenge your assumptions. Here’s the nub: Au Bout des Doigts serves every complete meal without knives, forks or spoons. You choose plates of meat, fish or a combination, veg, dessert and chef Fabrice Vermuse creates combinations of flavours to delight the palate, combinations of familiar flavours and more unusual ingredients. Eight to twelve bites make a meal and the whole table can share in the feast. This is a concept that works terrifically well with groups of friends, but also very well with working lunches or dinners as there’s no service interruption every five minutes. Eat, brainstorm, enjoy. And yes, there are fountains where you wash your hands. Groups of any size up to the hire of the entire restaurant, accommodating 180, are most welcome. Every first Wednesday there are musical evenings where you can discover local artistes.

Au bout des doigts is a great place to have dinner in Lille. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food was very good. We went for 12 plates of fish, which was enough to fill us both. The alternative was either 6, 9 or 12 plates of meat or a mixture of the two. The 3 free welcome cocktails were amazingly good too. I would definately recommend this restaurant.

I will reccommend au bout des doigts to all my friends going to Lille. A fantastic new concept in "tapas" and solves all problems when faced with a long menu. Here you choose how many portions/bites you would like of either fish, meat or a mix and then await with baited breath! Desert or Cheese are along the same concept. The wine is great, atmosphere very modern and a good setting for both a romantic meal or with a big group of friends. Very impressedReview
What a great find! We booked this on toptable before going to Lille for the weekend and are glad we did as we would never have found it otherwise! Tucked away in a back street, this unusual restaurant serves great mini-cocktails and mini-food, with full flavour! Love the decor too.Visitors
