About A Touch of Novelli - The French Horn
This second 'A Touch of Novelli' offering from celebrity chef Jean Christophe Novelli - the first being The White horse in Harpenden - is surrounded by 562 hectares of lush Bedfordshire countryside in the rural village of Steppingly. The restaurant maintains a hands-on rustic village feel, whilst still managing to attract cosmopolitan foodies from far and wide for a spot of destination dining. The French Horn has a traditional theme with a contemporary twist, and a cosy bar serving draft beers and international wines ideal for pre/post dinner drinks. With its exemplary modern Euro menu, you can expect classic dishes such as the calves livers with buttered mash, and the wild halibut with langoustine risotto.

We tried the restaurant last week so on Sunday we went for lunch (they have a roast). We have an 18 month old so sat on the terrace, which is next to a lovely park with swings etc. The full menu isn't available outside, but a good choice of light lunch and tapas, and the roast of course. The best bit was that the full desert menu is available outside...not cheap but very very nice!Review
A touch of novelli - the French Horn in Steppingly. Excellent food, not too much, not too little. Husband had the duck scotch egg, he said, if Carlsberg made scotch eggs they would be like this.Review
The French Horn is a restaurant in an old pub. The service is great, the food is delicious and reasonably priced considering the type of restaurant. Both myself and my partner were impressed with the place, and the choice on the menu. Portions were just the right size to enable you to have 3 courses and not feel sick!Visitors
