About Asia de Cuba - New York
When Phillipe Starck is involved, you know a space will be hip, theatrical, glamorous, quirky and a load of fun, and that describes Asia de Cuba at Morgans to a T. The centrepiece is a white-curtained room with 50-foot long communal alabaster table and 25-foot hologram of a mountain scene with waterfall. There are also cosy banquettes, fireplaces, and more buzz than a logging camp. The exotic menu is East-meets-Latin America and dishes are designed and presented for sharing. Signature dishes include Tunapica, a tuna tartare picadillo style with spanish olives, blackcurrants, almonds, coconut in soy lime vinaigrette on wonton crisps, and crispy calamari salad with chayote, palm hearts, banana, cashews, chicory and radicchio in sesame orange dressing. Chic, stylish party crowd peoples this restaurant that has the indefinable 'it' in spades.Booking Tip: Please try to make your New York booking at least 48 hours in advance.

Asia de Cuba NYC........Very discrete from the outside, but once you walk in pass the bouncers you understand that this restaurant is a good choice. Excellent service, great atmosphere, very helpful waiters. Large portions. Also make nice Mojitos. Would recommend anyone going to NYC. Would like to now try the London venue in 2008 sometime.Review
Great place for a group of friends to go with as the servings are huge and it would be much better to to sample bits of many dishes than to finish huge servings of 2 dishesReview
Chic and throbbing restaurant. Quite noisy at beginning of evening but settled down around 9 pm. Lovely cocktails and excellent food. Huge portions. Only need 2-3 first and main courses between 4 people... or you can take home a doggy bag. Don't be fooled by the front door of Asia de Cuba New York...you'll be amazed by what is on the other side.Visitors
