About Antica Biblioteca (formerly Acqua Negra)
The Antica Biblioteca Valle restaurant, (formerly Acqua Negra)in the heart of Rome is a new incarnation for a new century of an iconic club that prospered during La Dolce Vita. The new restaurant arises on the very spot where stylish stars of that era played, but now you can build an entire day around this smart, hard-working restaurant. From breakfast of Italian delicacies and superb coffee at 6.30 am through lunch, tea, happy hour, dinner and lingering snacks with wine until 2 am, the smiling hospitality never falters. The dining room features a swooshing leather banquette, woven chairs, informal table settings and elegant wine storage. The dinner menu, all modern Italian, concentrates on fish and on stunning presentation – try starter of citrus-marinated fish carpaccio, pasta course of spinach pappardelle with gorgonzola and walnuts, main course of a tower of beef fillet with herbs. The breads and decorations are works of art in themselves. Use the private dining room or hire the entire venue for private events, from weddings to corporate parties. We thoroughly enjoyed New Years' Eve at Antica Bibliiteca. The staff were very helpful and courteous I could not praise them enough. Unable to get a taxi we returned to restaurant absolutely frozen, we were plied with hot coffee encouraged to dance and even offered a plate of spaghetti at 2.00am! The owner took us to a square to help negogiated a taxi for us - we felt that we were leaving friends behind.

what can i say this was a super evening spent in the heart of rome in one of the nicest restaurants i've ever been to.Our hosts were willing for us to start early and our waiter was so polite and friendly!food was well presented,portion's adequate and the taste was terrific.Highly recommended for all.We felt like royalty and the restaurant was very clean,the staff spotless and we had plenty of time to savour our special night.Thank you 'Antica Bibloteca' for a night of luxury fit for an emporer!Review
We visited Antica Biblioteca (formerly Acqua Negra) and were very happy with everything. The food was very good (the protions are a bit too big if you are eating 4 dishes). The service was good when we were the only guests but we also visited when there were 6 other guests and at that time the service was quite slow. However I would still recommend a visit.
