The Gunnard's Head is set in a very remote part of Cornwall but there is nothing remote about the food or service which are both excellent. It is a very up market gastro pub which has made the most of the wonderful fresh fish and cornish produce to appeal to customers wanting to taste something local cooked with care.

Even though it was a little out of the way, as we were staying in St Ives, it was well worth the trip. The service was courteous and efficient and the steak was lovely. Highly recommended!

The Gunard's Head serves delicious, fresh and very tasty food. I recommend the salt and pepper squid and their rib eye steak is really flavoursome, with yummy brocolli on the side. Absolute must if you're in the St Ives area.

The Gurnard's Head, set atop a wind-battered Cornish coast is somewhat of an idyll. Though isolated, the bar and restaurant offer a sanctuary away from the wind surf and rain. The food is excellent, specialising in the finest of local produce. The Purslane, particularly, showed the over-arching ethos of the skilful kitchen in not tampering too much with the freshness of incredible ingredients. This magnificent find is a must for anyone in the area and makes worth the perilous walk from St. Ives.

Thoroughly enjoyed an excellent meal. Not surprisingly the fish (scallops and grey mullet) tasted fresh and delicious and were perfectly cooked. Would have liked slightly larger pudding portions.

I had high expectations for the Gurnards Head as it is a Top Table gold winner. The service was great with a thorough knowledge of the menu, and some aspects of the meal were excellent e.g the soup and the pear and almond tart were delicious, but one main course (vegetarian option) and one pudding (chocolate tart) were a little disappointing.

The Gurnard's Head was a great surprise, offering well cooked imaginative food in a rustic setting. The chefis obviously very good at his flavours and we couldn't fault anything on the plate. The choice of picture in the main restaurant on the other hand was unusual to say the least!
