We visited The Gun for an early dinner. The pub was full but the dining area wasn't and we enjoyed very good service and a good meal. But, by the time we got to desert the restaurant was full and very noisy and as the tables are close together its not a place to go for a private conversation. The toilets are through the bar and we had to push through a crowd to get to them which wasn't ideal. I would recommend The Gun if your already at Canary Wharf but it's not worth making a special trip to.

A friend and I had lunch the 1st march recommended by someone, it was lovely, everyone was eager to please. The food was wonderful and my friend was truly impressed. Will be eating there again in the summer so we can sit outside.

The Gun on a Friday lunchtime was pleasant - the fish & chips were the special of the day - fish and mushy peas was lovely but the chips could have been better. Contrary to previous reviews, the portion size was good.

My third visit to the Gun, and, for the most part, the best food yet. However, one of the steaks was mostly fat and sinew and though we discussed it with the waiter and the manageress, nothing was done about it. We were also put into a room at the back (they were full on a Sunday night !), which had next to no ambience. Finally, one of the waiters was verging on being incompetent. Apart from that, we had an excellent meal, and could so easily have been scoring 8s and 9s for everything.

A little of the beaten track, but well worth a visit. Excellent food and service. Starter portions maybe a little small, but that just leaves you room for dessert!

We visited The Gun for Sunday lunch and all thoroughly enjoyed it. The Gun is a lovely old pub with a great terrace overlooking the Thames. We sat indoors in the restaurant section which was very clean and bright. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious!

Have been going to the Gun for years - however not sure what has happened to service. Although they were training someone the restaurant only had three tables and service was very slow with empty plates not being cleared and orders slow to be taken.
