When I looked on their website it looked like they had a wide varied menu. Was totally disappointed as the menu was very limited. I must also say that it was very busy though due to a boxing show at the millenium stadium.

Spice Quarter Cardiff set menu. One course of 3 was poppadums! Starters and nan were reasonable, and the lamb main was edible, but the chicken tikka masala was not like any other I have ever tried - as we left the whole dish, the meal was not particularly VFM and service left a lot to be desired. Overall, not an experience we will repeat.

Spice Quarter is very well presented and looks like a beautiful place for dinner. However, be aware the their three course meal offer involves counting "poppadoms" as a course, and doesn't include dessert. Better curries have been had from take away places. My pasanda was very spicy but all other curries we ordered were distinctly lacking spice and flavour. I was also not impressed that the bar used different shaped glasses each time we ordered, no sense of order or looking after the details.

I visited the Spice Quarter in Cardiff with my partner. We booked the set menu (3 courses for £9:95) as part of the toptable offer. It's a lovely restaurant, although we had to eat early (5:30pm) as we were going to a show and we were the only people in the resaurant. However, the ambience improved as the evening progresed and the service was excellent. There was a buy one get one free offer on drinks when we were there which was good as drinks were a little pricey. The food was really lovely.

Dont believe the hype. This is far too busy to be good, as we found out to our cost. Having surveyed the comprehensive menu on their website, we were so disappointed to find out that the menu is thrifted at busy times offering a vastly reduced selection to speed up cooking and waiting times. Beware, no side dishes are available, expect to pay full price for main courses when you only want a taster. Oh and at £5 for a warm bottle of beer, dont be embarrassed to demand a cold one. Good luck !!!

The menu is not very varied so if you're expecting something different this isn't the place for you! That said, the basic dishes they do are executed very well. We went on a fight night - and they coped admirably. Service was a bit slow but it was understandable - and the queue was out of the door. Good value - perfect for a quick bite before trawling the bars in Cardiff!
