After seeing this rated as a 9 with no reviews I still decided to give it a go. Great location and very well done with the interior. Food was great except for a few dishes which did not seem to be quite as fresh as you'd expect as they claim everything is bought fresh daily. I would still recommend this place at present especially if you are looking for a nice romantic meal.

We chose the shorter "haiku" menu as we had only 90mins for lunch. Service was impeccable - charming and super efficient. Soseki has an admirable policy of sourcing only sustainable fish and we didn't miss the ubiquitous fatty tuna; the sashimi and sushi was fabulously fresh and delicious. The soups were light and delicately flavoured but overall I found the hot dishes disappointing - somehow they just lacked originality and oomph. I hope the kitchen ups its game; we will be back to find out.

This is an authentic Japanese restaurant, which serves a balance of traditional and modern cuisines. Excellent food presentation and service made the visit a very enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommend a green tea macha latte or cappuccino to finish off the meal. With the current Top Table special promotion, a visit to SOSEKI is a must.

We ate at Soseki on a Tuesday night on the TT "50% off set menus" offer. Great setting and the seemingly authentic little booths in which you can eat really make you feel like you are transported off to Japan for the evening. The service was very good too and the stunning crockery from which you ate added to the sense of occasion. The food was mixed - the sushi, sashimi and beef tongue wonderful but other items either a bit tasteless or just not to my taste. Glad I went but may not rush back.

A truly great experience, brilliant food and the location is perfect. We took advantage of the 50% off food offer which proved amazing value for money. The only downside was the fact the waitresses brought the accompanying drinks out at the wrong time, at one point handing me a desert wine with my soup!!! If it wasn't for this I'd have given Soseki restaurant 10 out of 10!!!

Soseki exceeded expectation for food and ambience. Fitted with Japanese antiques and furnishings, it was cozy and we had a four hour meal. It was not rushed but the rhythm of the service was erratic, with long waits between the last couple of courses which made the end of the evening drag on. Food was innovative and fresh, presentation was top notch.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
