So is great for a casual night out. Not very buzzy early on, but filled up later. Chef's menu is great value for the quality of food you get and there's a great selection of drinks, including specialist green teas. Would recommend.

Second visit this time,Excellent food,first class service,Staff is super friendly&helpful!! I had problem in getting a birthday cake for my sister&they offered to make a cake for us and it was really lovely n delicious!!Good value for money without toptable n much better with toptable, their chef collection is great. their black cod is really a must to try! sushi is not their strong area - hot dishes would be ideal. i cant fault this restaurant - def return! Great service from Alex&Tom! thx!

I took my boyfriend to So Restaurant for his birthday. This was our first visit and we were not disappointed. We had the special offer of 25% off the chefs selection which made our meal for 2 incl wine and service around £75. The service was great, although we were slightly confused by the menu at first. You are given 2 starter courses and then you have a choice on the main course - steak or black cod. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great

SO beat expectations. After having my Japanese food experiences dashed in London, addmitedly they were not high. Instead of pandering to what a western view of Japanese food is, they were strong enough to offer dishes that were more modern Japanese. The atmosphere was relaxing and condusive to a very enjoyable evening out. Will likely return in the future.

The 3-set course was fantastic. The opening fois gras was deliciously marinated with shitake mushrooms. The monk fish provided an interesting texture contrast. The black cod finish was amazing. It was tender and flavourful. A nice hidden gem in Soho.

So Japan is authentic and will be enjoyed by any who has visited Japan. Food is fresh tasting and innovative. Great place if you can't catch that plan, but want a bit of Japanese culture. Ambience is the only let down.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
