I chose Smithy's Wine Bar and Restaurant as the venue for a get together with a lifelong friend that I hadn't seen in almost a year. The atmosphere was great, food was good and the service was okay. The only negative comment would be that it was disappointing to receive a menu that only listed 4 main courses to choose from given the apparent wide selection listed on Toptable. Aside from that a good experience in all and I would revisit this venue.

Good honest, home cooked food in cosey yet romantic surroundings. I would definitely return!

Service was slow and ill-informed. For a Sunday, it wasn't busy and lacked atmosphere in the main restaurant. Walking back through the bar made me wish we'd eaten in there instead as it was cosy and festive. The food was good but the service was so slow and difficult, it did affect the whole experience.

Great atmosphere, loved the live band. Real surprise find tucked away near Kings Cross.

Wonderful, no hassle service, waited patiently for my tardy group to arrive in dribs and drabs, great service, melt in the mouth venison.

Smithy's wine bar and resturant served nice food - and honoured the top table price however seemed unaware of the deal. Service was good, friendly and quick, nice ambiance and suspect it gets more lively as the night goes on - we ate early.

The best thing about Smithy's is the location - really near Kings Cross, but also tucked away down a quiet cobbled lane. Food was decent, but I've had better meals in this price range. Service was pleasant, but when told the wine we ordered had run out, the waitress suggested another at twice the price! Er, I don't think so. Atmosphere good, so would go again if in the area, but maybe for drinks rather than food. Also, the music was a touch too loud and rather terrible. Simply Red, anyone?
