6 of us were out for a pre Christmas breakfast at Simpsons in the Strand. The staffs were very attentive. The orange juice was wonderful and regularly topped up as was the coffee and toast. We all enjoyed the Great British breakfast, the atmosphere and ambiance. We will be returning and recommend Simpson in the Strand for breakfast.

Dinner at Simpson's in the Strand. Expensive, but excellent traditional English fare. Wine list short and prices pretty steep. Service polite and relatively efficient - i.e traditional English (as opposed to modern English: surly and indifferent). Manages to be both noisy and ambience-free. A neat trick and, again, traditionally English. The meat is excellent, as are the vegetables, but these are, again, in the English style. No al dente sprouts or parsnips arranged like a mini log cabin.

Simpson's in The Strand is a real treat. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. It is as pricey and you would expect but it's worth it!

Simpsons in the Strand was superb. The best steak & kidney pudding I've had for over 20 years. The roast meat dishes looked fantastic. The service was totally professional with no sign of any trainees. We will definitely be going again.

Simpsons in the Strand is traditional English in the extreme. My in-laws have been going there for many years and hence we celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary there last night. Food exquisite. Service dire. 45 minutes to take the order, another 45 minutes for starters to arrive. With 2 elderly people and the youngest aged 8 this delay was not acceptable. However the food was delicious and the Roast Beef as good as ever. Recommend for food and ambiance but they must improve service a lot.

The atmostphere and the service at Simpson's in the Strand were exactly what I had hoped for - impeccable, old fashioned. The food, however, was disappointing. The Pot Roasted Partridge was on the dry side and the Steak and Kidney Pudding was soggy and very heavy. I noticed the other tables were generally pleased with their roast meat, however. I still think it'd be a great place for impressing visitors, but I'd go for the roast beef next time and nothing else.

We had Boxing Day luinch at Simpson's in the Strand. I was dleighted with the food, service and feel of the place. My Dutch guests wanted to experience English food - and Simpson's was a massive hit. We did not have items from the carving table - but it looked great. First Course of Pigeon (for my fellow eaters), was terrific and my Scallops very nicely done. I had the chef's special of Pork Belly which was very tasty and the Dover Sole was terrific. All in all a great experience.

Simpson's in the Strand offers old, traditional English dining. Entrance staff made us very welcome. Bar staff upstairs could not speak English. They placed all drinks at one side of the table for us to sort out. Dining room was grand. 6 of us in a booth - private-but waiter could not reach to serve 2 inner placings by the wall. Service was slow. Pianist was attrocious & looked bored. Food expensive for what we got. Been there & done it. Would not go again.
