Saffron faces competition from award winning curry houses but is onto a winner with its regional dishes. Good decor and service help too. Good starters with the stuffed red pepper very tasty. However I found the main dishes too hot rather than spicy and was surprised that the pilau rice was very oily and the chapatis the worst I've ever had. But Saffron was busy with regulars and there was an Indian family enjoying a meal and others collecting take aways - usually a good sign.

Saffron was a good meal, crab starter was fantastic and something i had never seen in an indian restaurant before, main course was also nice but not so special, it was however excellent value and the service was very friendly

Saffron is a small friendly and excellent Indian establishment.The menu is slightly different to your usual Indiam restruant with a good choice for vegetarians( one of our party of 4 was) I would highly recommend the spinach fritters as a starter or even side dish abd the staff even explained how to make them when asked. We had a lovely evening and have already put a date in the diary for our next visit.

We enjoyed our meal at Saffron, but were surprised how quiet it was for a Saturday evening, There were some new Indian dishes for us to try and good vegetables.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
