The best thing about the food at Roti has to be the combination of spices which results in a fantastic taste sensation with each mouthful. Every course we tried tasted great, including the side dishes and accompaniments. The only real negative on the food side was the lack of choice for dessert, with only 3 of the 7 or so on the menu being served . The 4 fantastic sounding "liquid desserts" (cocktails) were also not available, which was rather disappointing.

Roti is an indian restaurant with a difference. I have never come across the unusual combinations that were offered - the vension dumplings and crab dish were excellent - welll cooked and aromatic. I like the idea of the tiffins - you get smaller helpings and can take a few different options. Staff very friendly and the atmosphere was great for a Friday.

Roti was a good Indian restaurant although we were virtually the only ones there for quite some time so ambience not too great! Still good food. the waitress had a habit of forgetting our orders, but I would still go again. The prawn starter was fantastic!!

roti is an excellent restaurant and I cant find any faults with it. Service was very fast, food was delicious and well presented, staff were friendly and the ambience was buzzing but not noisy, a great place for a special occasion as it is a lot more up market then most indian restaurants.

We were slightly worried when we arrived at the well known Roti to find out it is under new ownership. Not having been previously we cannot make comparison but Ryan Singh the new MD was on hand to ensure that we enjoyed our evening, and we did. We opted for the vegetarian tasting menu (a brave move potentially for a couple of carnivores) which was good value at £35 per head including a bottle of wine for the table. The food was distinctive and delicious and each new course was a treat.

Roti is a very interesting restaurant, although it serves mainly Indian fare it has a twist on using Scottish ingredients such as haggis samosas, which were great. The beef vindaloo was wonderful and full of different spices. Sometimes the music was a little loud but the overall experience was wonderful. Service was efficient and friendly and we all had a great time and would certainly return.

As always, our meal at Roti was superb. We chose the vegetarian taster menu which comprises 8 small courses plus a bottle of wine between 2 for the very reasonable price of £34 per head. The food was fantastic, the presentation superb and the service faultless. Contrary to expectations, the food was so well balanced that we felt pleasantly full but not uncomfortable. We'll be back very soon!

This was a a very different Indian meal experience. We came to Edinburgh for the weekend and booked Roti. It was superb. Very unusual and a great ambience, great food and great service. The Haggis pakora was a first for us and was fantastic. The Butter chicken had such unique flavours and so delicious and very different from previous butter chickens we had tasted in other Indian restaurants. I would highly recommend giving the Roti a try. We will definitely go back next time in Edinburgh. A+++
