Room (Liverpool) - Excellent food and drink in a relaxed environment. Only one point to complain about and that is the added Service Charge. I always leave a tip, so I don't like the idea of being forced to pay for this privelage (or asking for it to be removed if the service etc was poor.) Overall we enjoyed fantastic food with excellent service.

The Room - Liverpool talks about "food with a twist" but the menu was not well explained and the "mousaka" turned out disappointingly to be strips of underdone lamb, and crispy/burnt aubergine. The service became slower and slower as the Saturday evening wore on and obviously short staffed the toilets were a disgrace. The Air conditioning was not working and the restaurant became uncomfortably warm. We have had many fine meals with Top Table in some great restaurants - this was not one of them,

Room is nicely fitted out in modern style. The menu is extremely short on description of the dish - you get the briefest detail, for example "Scotch Egg" as the name of the dish, with "Brasied Oxtail" underneath, or "Moules Mariniere" and "Black Bream" underneath.As a consequence, our server had to spend considerable time explaining each dish, but her knowledge of the menu was good. Food was well presented, prices were reasonable and best value was the assortment of desserts for all to share.

This has to be the best food and service I have had at any restaurant in the UK, delivered in elegant and unpretentious surroundings by friendly staff - what more could you ask for? We happened to be be staying at the Hotel too, and I can thoroughly recommend it in every respect!

The Room in Liverpool is very cool and relaxed. A great venue to take for a date and also to meet take the parents to if you want to impress. Would recommend

If this restaurant can not hold its own mid week with very few customers and a limited menu how does it fair of a weekend? Far too much concentration on ambience/surroundings and really, is there any need for a greet, meet, seat waitress. Too much confusion obviously for the staff as well as the customer. Liverpool is in dire need of fantastic restaurants. This could be a truly amazing one but something has gone awry.

Room restaurant is located in an old bank building and the decor is great. It was suprisingly empty for just before Christmas and on entry we were not given a very warm welcome by the maitre'd on the door and I had to do most of the talking. The cocktail water was very friendly and he made us some delicious cocktails. The food was also very good but the service was a bit slow considering how empty it was.

This was the first time I had visited the Room and I really enjoyed my meal here. The starter was great and the maincourse impressive, an usual combination of salmon coated in a thin pasty served on a bed of lentils. The service was good throughtout. Though a bit pricy i would highly recommend it.

Room is a brilliant place, quite noisy but not over the top, all the staff were very friendly food was very very good. would go again
