Four of us ate at Rivadestra for new years eve 2007. The wine was good, but food very poor and overpriced. For £160 / head, we were expecting some real quality, but were thoroughly dissapointed. Service was bad - one course was entirely missed, and we were then asked if we would like a repeat of one of the previous course! There were no locals in, and I expect Rivadestra thrive on internet booking with little repeat business. Staff could not even book taxi forced to walk home. Ruined NY - AVOID

This restaurant was quite well hidden you wouldnt know was there without big stylish door with tiny sign. It was very homely inside and cosy. anything you dont understand was explained by lovely waitress. Food was amazing with lovely flavours and fresh ingredients and presentation was out of this world, an extensive wine list and luckily picked a good one. Would definitely re-visit. Doesnt get busy till around 9pm.

It's a very nice home restaurant and certainly offers something different from traditional Italian food. We arrived 15mins earlier than the opening time, but since it was raining so we asked if we can wait in the restaurant. We're told that the kitchen was not ready but we're offered a free antipasti while waiting. I recommend the ravioli with ricotta, pear and walnut. They go so well together and almost melt in your mouth. It was not easy to find but it was around EUR6 from Termini by Taxi.

The Rivaestra was an absolute delight. Out of the way, but what a surprise! The Italian menu was not vast, a selection of about 5 dishes for each course. But the quality was superb, each dish carefully planned and presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the decor chic and modern. We are looking forward to dining here again on our next visit to Rome.

We went to the Rivadestra Restaurant in a very quiet back street in Rome. You would never know it was there. We were a little concerned at first as there were no other diners but it soon filled up. The staff were lovely and helped to translate the menu for us. The food was lovely, starters could have been a little hotter but otherwise excellent. The decor, furnishings and background music created a lovely romantic atmosphere

This is a great find in Rome!! Lovely decor, lovely food and a very helpful waiter. Great value for money. the only thing is we booked a table for 9pm and it was very quiet... not sure if that's just because it's Italy and we should be eating later but something to bear in mind. Otherwise, I highly recommend it, there's some great bars nerby also for a post dinner drink....

Rivadestra is a very good little restaurant very much tucked away in a pretty Roman street. It's an intimate kind of place, very laid back though, and though the food didn't always set the palate on fire, it was all done extremely well - fresh, well thought out and delightfully presented. Service was very good too, though main courses took a while to appear. We had a very enjoyable evening, but did feel like the restaurant could push itself a little harder.

Small menu of modern style food. The pasta starters were generally good but ricotta and asparagus salad a little bland. However the secondi were on the whole disppointing - in particular the fish (not sure what it was) which was 'very fishy'. May have been unlucky in our selection. Service friendly and generally efficient. Recommended wines very good. Decor attractive. Nothing out of the ordinary to similar modern european restauarants interesting alternative to standard Roman cuisine

The service was fab, the venue was fab, the food was great - but maybe we booked too late for a thurs (11pm). It was just us and one othe couple who looked like they had been there for hours...but the waiter was so friendly and called the pork cut that we were eeating "stinko" that provided a lot of silly laughs all night (and is now an affectionate nick name for my fave person) I thought it was better to eat late in latin countries - im obviously a novice..
