once you actually find this restaurant, the getting lost is worth it - amazing tastes and textures. you must have the tasting menu to do Sat Bains justice. ...and always have the treacle bread.

Restaurant Sat Bains was a good choice for a relaxed, informal birthday meal for my other half. Countryside setting within a few miles of the city and excellent, friendly service throughout from Amanda Bains and her staff. Good mix of interesting dishes on the tasting menu for a reasonable price. Relatively small amount of covers meant personal and unhurried service. Lamb main course and famous 'duck egg' starter were particularly memorable as was the treacle bread rolls!

Restaurant Sat Bains is a delicious, exciting and flavoursome experience. We were taken on a food journey through course after course of delightful, aromatic and mouthwatering dishes to tempt every palate. The sample menu is a must and make sure you try the treacle bread...devine! A perfect birthday treat.

Restaurant Sat Bains is fabulous and must be even lovelier in winter with a fire. The tasting menu is the way to go as you get to try all of his dishes plus if you order the signature dish as an extra all bases are covered. We met both Sat and Amanda plus their rabbits Tyson and Biscuit. Friendly, welcoming and wonderful.

Dinner in Sat Bains was a very pleasant experience. The service was excellent, the tables large and well set apart, the location and decor really nice. The wine list has a good selection, both in variety as well in price. My companion and I had the tasting menu, which was good. Not exceptional; some dishes could definitely be improved upon. Overall the food is worthy of the 1 Michelin star rating, but not more. That said, the overall setting, presentation etc was excellent. Well worth a visit.(found 5 reviews)
