We visited RAIN on a Saturday night and after reading the reviews on TopTable thought it sounded a perfect place to have a nice meal, a few drinks and a dance. We decided to have the 4 course Thai menu which was very nice (but wasn't very filling). Unfortunately the service was slow and it was very cold in the restaurant. At 11pm a few tables were cleared in the bar area, however it wasn't very busy and certainly wasn't very "club like" - no one was dancing! We got fed up about 12.30am and left.

The food was delicious, the cocktails were sublime, it is just a pity that we had to wait over an hour and a half between our courses! Considering we arrived at the restaurant at twenty past seven, I found it astounding that we never left until half past eleven. I can honestly say it is the longest time that I have ever spent in a restaurant. It is a shame as it was all going so well until the third course. Saying that, we were recumpenced accordingly.

Rain restaurant Amsterdam. Tried the tasting menu, nothing special. Wine we ordered from the wine list wasn't available, yet there were only about 6 other tables in at the time. Serviced started at a nice pace but really slowed by the time we got to the main course. Not great value for money and wouldn't make a repeat visit.

We were really pleased with the quality of the food at RAIN and loved the fact that they brought you nibbles before your meal as we were so hungry. Great drinks menu with cocktails. It isn't cheap but well worth it. It's a trendy restaurant but lacks a buzzy atmosphere. It was only full so maybe when it's full, it has a better atmosphere. Worth a visit and good looking serving staff, male and female!

Rain was a little quiet, probably because it was a Wed night. We started with some cocktails, and they were really generous with the alcohol. Then we had starters - pretty amazing tuna sashimi. Dinner was also pretty good too - had a sirloin steak burger on a brioche bun. Would definitely recommend the bar / restaurant for food - ambience wise, it would benefit from a more lively atmosphere

A very nice restauant in the Remblant Square in Amsterdam. Cocktails are briliant but not so sure about the food. A bit confusing regarding the menu. It was a mixture of Asian, Carribbean and Mexican with a little bit of Chinese thrown in. Would go there for a cocktails.

We had an early Saturday night booking for RAIN Amsterdam and were sat in the "lounge dining" area overlooking the bar. I had the taster menu (€35 - excellent value) with the Caribbean influence. Asian and European are the other options. Food was sometimes over-elaborate, possibly to distract... Food was lovely, only the potatoes (roasted in a plastic bag) were over-seasoned. Mixed dessert was very good and had popping candy a la Blumenthal. It's fab service, nice food, trendy place to be!

Upon initially entering Rain restuarant, you could tell it catered for the monied slightly more mature crowd. The drinks were London prices but the food very good value, we selected the chef special 4 course menu - where each dish was a surprise. We enjoyed an electic selection including variations on Swordfish, seared tuna, miso soup, Absolutely gorgeous! The staff were friendly, informal and very, very helpful. Can't wait to go back!

I was there on a quiet Sunday night, so the personalised service was probably atypical, but the 35 euro 4 course tasting menu was exceptional- great variety of flavours with a few Heston Blumental touches.

RAIN amsterdam is a very trendy glam place and was as good as i imagined it to be but for me the food let it down ONLY because i wasnt as well catered for being a very fussy veggie as my fellow guests were. They all recommended the taster menus and throughly enjoyed their dinner but for me the place came alive when the music started and the place turned into an amazingly fun, vibrant dance bar - well worth a visit for anyone wanting a different type of night in amsterdam
