Review

The restaurant at Raemoir House Hotel produces food of very high quality: the ingredients are clearly well-sourced and the kitchen staff turn out a quality finished product. But at £35 for a 3 course meal with coffee it would be nice to have a little extra. Pre-dinner drinks at £6 for a glass of wine had no accompaniments. Portions are not big, and the meal might have had an amuse-bouche to help it along. Lovely setting, great food but not great value.

Food at Raemoir is well sourced and very well prepared. While the surroundings are attractive, there are a number of small things which detract from what should be a great experience. Cool welcome, wine brought to table but not poured for tasting, lacking personal touch. Maybe an off-night, but in a relatively expensive setting, it does weaken the value for money. However, the chef is blamless and obviously knows what he or she is doing!

Review

Set in 3500 acres of Upper Deeside, the Raemoir House Hotel is a gem I hope to visit again soon. I can't understand how we'd failed to have been there before! Dinner menu had four items for each of starter, main and desert at £22.50 for 2 and £29.50 for 3. Fishcake starter was superb as was the chicken liver comfit although toast slightly on the thick side. Wife's venison was almost like buttery liver, the best I've tasted; my salmon tasty but slightly overdone. Pity we had to leave early.
