No 5, Bath for lunch was slightly dissappointing. The food ,however, was excellent value for money, the lunch special was 7.95 for 2 courses, the tarte flambe was delicous. The service was just ok,the watress was a little brisk and plates were thrown down on the table. Loos were grubby and the staircase leading down to them was dirty and in need of decoration. Everything looked and felt a bit tired and dated. Not a memorable meal........

No. 5 Bistro An exellent restaurant with very good service and a lovely ambience, myself and my girlfriend enjoyed our night very much. The food was top class and would normally expect to pay alot more for a meal as good as that. The staff were very friendly and we did not have to wait ages for our food.

We visited the No. 5 Bistro on 23rd July 2007. The food was absolutely delicious; starting with a fabulous french onion soup and a pigeon, pistachio and rasin terrine. For the main course we ordered the salmon fillet (which was superb), a T bone steak with home made chips and the duck. After all this we couldn't manage a dessert! As we were there on a Monday night we were able to take our own wine and the final bill for the four of us came to approx £100. Highly reccomended!

No.5 Bistro is a pleasant enough restaurant. My partner had lamb as a main course which came with a vegetable tart. This vegetable tart seemed to be various vegetables formed into a sort of cylindrical blob. She did not really enjoy it and unfortunately it spoiled her main course. The restaurant was not as busy as I would have expected for 8.00 pm on a Friday night. The table next to us was unfortunately rather noisy - instead of talking normally they seemed to shout.

No.5 Bistro failed to disappoint. Presentation was as equally perfect as the tood tasted and the service was second to none despite being almost full to capacity. The only let down was the toilets which were drab and scruffy. Next time i wiill get someone else to drive as the extensive wine list was full of delights and would appeal to all (ie regardless of knowledge!). Thanks No.5 for an evening of exquisite dining, without the usual initmidation that sometimes come places of this quality.

The food was amazing! I had smoked duck for starter and tuna with aubergine caviar for main course! the tuna was so fresh and the caviar is the best aubergine I´ve had! the crab starter was amazing too! and the portions are generous! I wanted dessert but just couldnt fit anymore into my stomach! Only problem is that the tables are very small. With 4 persons sitting around a square table there is hardly space even for the wine glass!
