A very fine genuine Indian restaurant (the waiter said firmly at one point to my guest "we are NOT a Bengali restaurant!). Slightly odd two class system - toptable diners have a superior and more expensive menu to walk-in diners.

A group of 5 went to Melu for a meal on a mid week night. The food was very good and the waiters were constantly on hand to order more wine. Using the toptable offer (2-4-1 on main courses) i would recommend others to dine there.

Mela was a lovely restaurant. The food was lovely i would recommend the Lamb Shank roganjosh what a delight. The punjabi kadhi reminded me of the way my mum used to make it. Food was lovely. I would recommend it to everyone. I was slightly disappointed with the dessert menu as they did not have the desserts as listed on their website. Would recommend Gajar Ka Halwa as it was simply delicious.

We visited Mela on the 20 Dec 2007 for a department xmas meal. The restaurant was full and quite noisy (not that this was a problem) We were seated promptly and the waiters were kind and helpfull. The food came in good time and was fantastic. The portions were ample, and we had left overs. I would recommend this place to all people.

Mela is a great place to go if you like a good quality curry at sensible prices. There is plenty of choice from the more familiar indian dishes - to something a little more unusual. The service was mixed, some staff much better than others and you need to be prepared to sit VERY close to your neighbours. However, I would go back here for dinner.

Nice restaurant with some interesting curry dishes. Not your typical Indian restaurant so if you're after something a bit different it's worth a try. The duck, potato dish and naan was very tasty but the sauce on our chicken dish tasted a bit like tomato soup.

This is one of my favourite London restaurants, took some friends here for the first time on Wednesday and was delighted to find they like it as much as I do. Incredible food, friendly service - can't recommend this place too highly

The food at Mela was lovely. The service was good, the waiter very helpful in assisting one of our party with her choice of food.
