Megu is a fantastic restaurant. As there was nothing on at broadway and no sport to see, we made an evening of going to this restaurant. Our waiter was really helpful with his recommendations and even though the set menu's looked fab, we chose from the menu ourselves. Even though it is a tad expensive, it is definitely worth it for the delicious food. The cocktails were really interesting too. Would def recommend for anyone who wants a top notch Japanese restaurant in NY.

MEGU - is the complete dining experience, the staff are incredibly knowledgable about the food and in particular the wine. The ambience is incredible with a loud vocal welcome from all the staff as the new guests are seated. The food is meticulously prepared and presented and is full of flavour. I would suggest being brave and ordering for yourself rather than going for the set menu as we did. I have to give the Kobe beef it's own mention as it is STUNNING and a must have choice.

Megu was not one of my favourite places that i tried while in New York. food was mainly first rate (as you would expect at this price level). but ambience was a bit oppressive for my tastes. especially grating was the over-loud piped in music, that was a sort of low-tempo rave, not at all relaxing. same music seemed to be piped into the 'kimono bar' upstairs, where it seemed more appropriate. one for the style junkies.

Megu is a fantastic restaurant with a buzzing bar, and exceptional food. The atmosphere & clientelle on a Saturday night can only be described as funky, hip& cool ! We tried the $125 taster menu which though costly was worth every penny. Our only criticism would be that even though we booked the table for 8.30pm we had to wait till 9.30pm to be seated. We were encouraged to sit in the bar and have a drink and if we had not chased our table we would most probably have been left their till 11pm!

Wow! We went to Megu last night and had a fantastic time. The decor is amazing. Tip: try to reserve a central booth, ideal for 4 people. The food was melt-in-the-mouth, and incredibly fresh. We ordered the larger set menu, which was REALLY good. The best sushi and sashimi I have ever had. The wine recommended to us was slightly ordinary compared to the rest of the experience. Definitely recommended, especially if you can do it on GB pounds (its not cheap). We loved this place.

top notch dining on manhattan. be prepared to part with your pennies for a really enjoyable evening. ladies toilets were entertaining too!
