we went to Matsuri for a working lunch - but the noise level was high and tables close together so wasn't the best choice for that. The food was good, fresh and tasty - but some help in choosing would have given us a better selection and all around us people were eating more interesting dishes. The deep fried sea food was very good and generous although the sashimi a bit sparse. Good reliable Japanese food

Matsuri High Holborn offers a tasty Japanese dining experience in a contemporary setting. Greeted by a stylish bar as you enter, the main restaurant lies to the rear. Having eaten there early, not much can be said for the atmosphere - if that's what you are interested in don't get there in time for pre theatre dinner. The food was varied and tasty, and service was adequate. The restaurant offered reasonable value for money - definitely good enough to be worth a second visit!

Matsuri was a wonderful place to dine. The beef tataki was especially tasty and the sushi made to perfection. Reasonable value and beautifl presentation make Matsuri a must for lovers of japanese food!

The one thing about Matsuri is its consistency in providing high quality food, albeit slightly on the expensive side. Having said that, this is my favourite Japanese restaurant in London.

Matsuri in Holborn is good quality Japanese food, I had a course for GBP35. Atmosphere is a little "canteen" like, not slick Zen. Having real Japanese staff in a Japanese restaurant was also refreshing. I'd go back for a business lunch, but probably not PA.

Matsuri High Holborn is an excellent place if you want to impress your Japanese food loving client/candidate/contact/beloved. We ate downstairs where the delightful and charming chef cooked our steaks in front of us, to absolute perfection. We had the Assorted Tempura (Richard) and the Sashimi (me) starters with the Scottish Sirloin and finished with the amazing Green Tea Ice-cream filled Crepe. Great service and lovely food.
