Manna was a beautiful restaurant (formerly Papingo; old-fashioned Italian, so a much needed change) but the food in no way matched up. Replacing the ordinary grill with a Christmas menu for the entire month of December, we were left wanting in choice and quality. Huge triumph for style, not much in terms of substance.

Manna - good food and good service (initially). Similar to other reviews we found the 'spray & wipe' of the paper table covers rather off-putting. Pre-theatre menu was excellent value but rather let down by some ponderous service when a quick exit to the theatre was required.

Excellent a la carte menu at Manna. First time here while visiting Glasgow, wouldn't hestitate to dine here again in the future.

Manna is a stylish basement space, intimate and well designed in white and soft grey with a touch of classic retro styling. The menu consists of classic dishes, all well presented with beef being a particular speciality. But for a restaurant of this class and price range the selection of dishes was pedestrian, with dishes like peppercorn beef, moussaka and tiramisu being almost culinary cliches, easily available anywhere else. Still, I'd recommend Manna for a quiet, stylish evening.

We recently visited Manna Resturant based on the good reviews it received on toptable. On the plus side we had a marvellous meal which was excellent quality, well cooked and very well presented. On the negative side we found the gentleman who greeted us to be abrupt in his manner and also you would not expect a restaurant of this quality to be spraying and cleaning the table covers like a burger bar.

We went to Manna Restaurant for lunch before a show and the food and service was excellent. We were thoroughly spoilt. The food was gorgeous tasting and well presented. Staff were friendly but very professional. would definitely go there next time I am in Glasgow.

Excellent starters (chili prawns and sardines). Acceptable main courses (sirloin steak well cooked, but meal over salty). Rather watery double espresso. When I asked to swap french fries for mash, I was refused - even though mash only cost 50p more and was available on the side dishes menu. Like other comments, surprised to see paper tablecloths being sprayed and wiped down for the next set of guests - if you must use paper tablecloths, you could at least replace them between diners?
