Lovely restaurant, quality food and good atmosphere and value for money when you consider the drinks bill. Had a pre-meal cocktail in the lovely bar overlooking the millenium bridge. Would definelty go again. Shame about the constant rain over the whole weekend, but you can't blame toptable for the weather !!!!

Booked a table for a birthday meal with my partner at Malmaison, Newcastle. We chose from the locally produced food menu which was very reasonably priced. The meal was lovely, the staff very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere very great. Lovely venue and will definitely be making another visit soon. Have recommended it to friends and family.

We booked for a special occasion having seen the special offer on toptable. It was good that the menu used local produce although we were disappointed that we needed to pay for vegetables separately. The wine list was pricey and the food good but in small portions. The restaurant is very dark and access is not easy for anyone with a disability. However the service was excellent.

we dined at the malmaison brasserie in newcastle in april. i personally thought the food was georgeous. even though expensive. my girlfriend was not impressed with her main meal. we both got craster crab for starter which we thought was beautiful, there was a very long wait for main meal. we actually got a desert inbetween as an appology. then i got wood pigeon with pea rissotto. it was gorgeous. best main meal i've had. my girlfriend didn't enjoy her steak but recommended.

Malmaison in Newcastle is a great place for a relaxed meal. There are plenty of dishes to choose from - perhaps too many. A great priced local menu. The service could have been better towards the end of the night, it took over an hour after our main course for dessert - Nothing should take this long!

The food quality was the highlight of the Malmaison restaurant. Very tasty with good portions. The service didn't match the food. The unorganised approach was summed up when our waitress didn't know which coats were ours on leaving and showed us to a cloak rail where we could have had the pick of any! The set 2 course meal is now £13.95. Still good value. A great night out on the Toon followed.

I booked this meal for my husbands birthday. We were offered drinks in the bar on arrival and sat looking onto the Tyne which was nice. The restaurant was quite dark, and busy. We were given menus as we sat down but were not offered the wine list until after our starters. The food was lovely and we could not complain, however I did not feel the menu was that extensive. I would go back but wont rush.

Service excellent. We ( 16 ) were in private room - very elegant and comfortable. We had to have restricted menu because fo size of party but food good to very good. Wine prices a bit steep but some good value wines on list (eg.St Hallet). Service and helpfulness from staff could not have been better.

Dark, mysterious and wonderfully enjoyable, that is what Malmaison in Newcastle offers the visitor. Sumptuous furnishings and delicious food all add to the experience.
