I found the restaurant excellent, we dined on New Year's Eve and had the set menu, which was 9 courses of excellence, with an extensive wine list to choose from as well. The cost of the meal was around 170 Euros per person, whilst this is not cheap the quality of the food is certainly worth the money. Both the ambince and the service were first class as well, I would thoroughly recommend to anyone seeking a special meal out.

this was to be the highlight the entrance through the shop was the most exciting part of the meal very very disappointing grit in the veg why do they think greasy food is good! do they think because we are english we would not notice over cooked fish? would not recommend it except to an enemy

L'Huitriere fully lives up to its reputation for good food. The fish as you would expect is wonderfully prepared, but my lunch partner had the Venision and declared it to be the best she had ever had. Service was friendly but polished. Overall a good experience and I would not hesitate to eat here again nor recommend to others. Not cheap but a treat nevertheless.

L'Huitiere is a delightful, traditional restaurant with very good service, serving excellent but expensive food. The decor is charming and the ambience is very French and comfortable. The restaurant seves a wide choice of seaood including freshly caught fish, lobster and different types of oysters. There are meat and vegetatian options. The desserts are imaginative and worth saving room for. There is an excellent wine list. L'Huitiere is a great place to spend a special eveninlg.

Service inattentive - we were largely ignored for the majority of the evening - had to wait forever to order, wine not topped up (we resorted to doing it ourselves), food average - entree luke warm. The only highlight of the evening was the cheese board. Wouldn't recommend!

Probably our fourth visit to l'Huitriere. Although one of the best restaurants in Lille recent newer and more up-to-date alternative venues are beginning to compete both on price and quality of cooking. We would describe the experience as good, rather than excellent on this visit.

Such a shame that slapdash and less than michelin standard service let the dining experience at L'Huitriere down. The food and wine are both excellent.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
