We went for the taster menu, the food was unusual and very enjoyable. The wine and complete list was also great and the service was very friendly. A really nice and special evening!

We booked a table at Le Sebastopol for 7.30 on New Years Eve as we have 2 small children. Unfortunately this was irrelevant as the meal didn't kick off until about 9.30 which they neglected to tell us. However, they made every effort to accommodate us - making a side room available. The food was excellent (list too long to mention). Difficult to judge value for money as it was NY's Eve. Extensive wine list. Lovely setting and friendly staff. Definately recommended.

Very disappointing for a michelin star restaurant, it was a production line, and for vegetarians a travesty with a plate of vegetables, a plate of mushrooms and some green leaves which cost £60.00,

Le Sebastopol, Lille, (France) provided a first class dinner for three - nearly historic in Winner's words - excellent value as two had the 50 Euro Saveurs menu and our American friend went a la carte with a fillet steak cooked to pefection. Our bottle of Haut Cote de Beaune at 16 Euros was very good value as well. Including 3 glasses of champagne as aperitifs, the total price was 217 Euros - highly recommended.

A somewhat disappointing two day visit to Lille was made thoroughly enjoyable by dinner at Le Sebastopol. We decided to have the Gourmandise tasting menu - seven superb and well balanced courses which, for a Michelin Star restaurant, was great value at 65 euros plus an excellent bottle of 2004 Fleurie at 38 euros. The service was calm, efficient and professional and, as a final touch of hospitality, Le Patron himself escorted us to our taxi. Highly recommended.

An imaginative tasting menu very approriate and honest to the region. The restaurant is really a dining room only experience, people coming to eat then leave,so the ambiance whilst less than relaxed, has to be worked at quite hard by the staff who on the whole succeed. Extensive and rewarding wine list to suit all pockets. We left with a smile,a great night out for two in a quiet part of lille.Romantic without the kitch.

Le Sebastopol in Lille produced fantastic food. There were only two areas I would improve. Firstly the menu lay out was confusing to someone with limited knowledge of French but eventually an english speaking waiter did assist. Ambience was limited as we were put upstairs in a private room with no contact with other guests. The high ceilings and lighting meant it was neither cosy or bright and edgy...caught between the two. If we were in Lille again we would definately go back!

If the budget allows go for the Gourmande menu at Le Sebastopal. This is a superbly balanced menu executed with a light touch. The service, like the meal was efficient but did not intrude. We felt our host wanted to give clients a memorable night out. They achieved this admirably.
