Went here for lunch on Xmas Day and couldn't ask for anything better. Decor lovely and service wonderful, and the food was exquisite!

We knew we were arriving late at the Westin Hotel so we decided to book a table at Le First restaurant since it was in the hotel and seemed to have decent reviews so far. I had a pretty decent steak tartare although perhaps it was too finely minced (in a food processor rather than by hand?) and my wine had a very nice bowl of mussels. I had to return my first glass of wine which was off and I asked for a different wine and this was dealt with graciously.

A quick day trip to Paris had many highlights, of which our long lunch in Le First was near the top. Friendly courteous though far from fussy service was complemented by seven courses of exotic fusions and some extremely palatable plonk. At about 100 euros a head, it wasn't the cheapest dinner I've eaten recently, but it was still very good value. The venue was surprisingly quiet, so the ambience was a little muted, but this enabled my girlfriend and I to enjoy a cosy chat over a long lunch.

Le First restaurant in the Westin Paris Hotel has a good mix between a business crowd and the smart pre-party set. A definite thumbs-up in Paris if you are looking for something French but not excessively so. The decor is dark and lacquered, slightly oriental tones but the food is authentic Gallic cuisine. The desserts would make me return alone!

The restaraunt had a great location along the rue de rivoli, and the decor inside was beautifull. The staff were polite and the food very nice. Would reccomend if staying in the area.

Le First is an excellent restaurant for both ambience and food; the crab and cream of asparagus starter was particularly good. The service was also excellent with none of the irritating gaffes often found in London restaurants of the same supposed quality. Despite being on the expensive side, I would definitely go back.
