The food at L'Ecume des Mers is great! Be prepared to do your own translation as the waiters cannot really assist. One member of our party ordered medium to well done steak, but got medium-rare. The ambience is nice, but do not go too early. We went for dinner at 7pm and were the first table. There was no music so very quiet in the beginning, but it livened up when the place filled up closer to 8pm. Excellent fish!

Food was excellent with fresh seafood. Bouillabaisse was particularly delicious and highly recommended. The service was also very good.

I was in charge of finding a venue for our Christmas meal and was very impressed with the restaurant I had chosen thanks to toptable. The food was excellently cooked and the waiters were very attentive. We were there all afternoon and it was a very relaxed atmosphere, we were not rushed at all even though we were the last table to leave at 6pm!! Great!!

L'Ecume des Mers: We had a table for 12 for Xmas lunch and all were very impressed with the food, service, location and ambience. The only bad point was that it was advertised as 'vegetarian friendly' but there were no vegetarian dishes on the menu. The 'vegetarian friendly' statement was one of the reasons I chose the restaurant. However, the staff did their best to accomodate and produced a starter & main dish of cooked vegetables for our vegetarian.

My husband and I were in Lille celebrating our anniversary and chose L'Ecume des Mers after a recommendation from a friend. We had a wonderful time. The food was unfailingly excellent and reasonably priced for the quality. Each of our mains were 28 euro but well worth the cost. Seafood is the focus (the moules were by far the best we had in Lille) but the beef too was also very good. Chocolate tart was the richest and darkest I have ever had, the perfect way to end the meal. Will return asap

The quality of the food was very good indeed: crab and langoustine are particularly recommended, as is the lobster. Accompanying sauces and dressings are delicately flavoured, enhancing the taste experience. The menu has a wide range of offer: no-one dining took advantage of the non-fish dishes, but their inclusion is a useful addition for those who do not wish fish. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated, and has a very good location in the centre of the tow Service is friendly and swift.

L'Ecume des Mers was a fantastic location for lunch. We were glad we booked since even on a wet monday, it was packed. We both had fish dishes which were fresh and brilliantly cooked. Nearby tables were having meat which looked just as good. I thought it was great value for money even though we ate from the a la carte menu - there was a lunch specail one as well. Def worth a visit.
