Le 86 has excellent food and the staff were very patient and accomodating when it became clear that we didn't speak french very well at all. Particular highlights were my boyfriend's guinea fowl and creme brulee. I also enjoyed my steak and chocolate pudding with a warm runny centre.

Le 86 is very stylish and a little off the beaten track, making it relatively tourist-free. The food is modern European with a heavy French influence. This does mean that every type of animal is used in almost every dish, so if you have any dietary requirements, don't come here. We had a very average vegetable canneloni. The staff are delightful however.

Le 86 was a friendly however at the time we had our reservation there were only a handful of other diners so we could not see overall what the atmosphere would have been. The menu was varied however a little limited fussier people may get stuck with what to order and unfortunately there was no English transalation. The highlght of our meals was the entrecote and the price of the wine!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The food was amazing, and by far the best experience we had on our long weekend in Lille. I would recommend this restaurant 100%.

Le 86 is a red boudoir-chic restaurant which was only half-full on Sat night. Nevertheless, the food was lovely for the 25 euro menu - large shrimp croquettes, fantastic duck with pear, a good spiced lamb with mushrooms and tagliatelle, huge creme brulee and delicious fondant chocolate cake. Would definitely recommend.

Review of le 86 in Lille. A really pleasant find. We had lamb chops over a bed of tagliatelle and it was lovely. lamb nicely pink and the whole thing was not too big like some of the mammoth size portions one can get in France. Even the house wine was pretty good. Would recommend.

We had a 1:30 booking at Le 86, walked in at 1:35, and immediately told that we could not have starters (no explanation). We were ready to order within 3 minutes of receiving the menu, but waitstaff was nowhere to be found. After a bit of a debate, we were granted our wish to have the 3-course menu. The goat cheese en croute, duck with pears and honey, and chocolate cake were all fantastic and worth the debate. The foie gras starter was more disappointing, and service leaves alot to be desired.

The meal at Le 86 was more expensive than we had anticipated, however France was generally more expensive than the UK. The staff were friendly although it would have helped if we could have had more of the menu translated as one of our party is allergic to sea food. We didn't realise until the first course came to the table that it contained shrimps or maybe it's down to us to learn more French........ Obviously very popular restaurant with the locals.
