Never would have found this place without TopTable. Well worth it, though expensive. Excellent service, thank you Oscar. Food good but not excellent. Interesting menu with a Venetian theme. Romantic setting.

La Colomba offered an excellent contemporary twist on traditional Venetian fare served with attention to detail, style and good humour. Our wines were well chosen and portions were generous; something rare in restaurants of such good quality. Very highly recommended; don't ignore the desserts!

This was a slow night! The place was fairly full but only 2 members of staff in sight. We sat at 8pm and did not leave until after 11pm and skipped desert. Food was OK but service was very slow. Waiter Oliver did a good job keeping us entertained and saved the night.

La Columba was the one nicest places we ate in Venice. Would never have found it had we not pre-booked. Its down a little at alley behind St Marks Sq. Excellent service again. They even changed the wine when to horrible bird I was with said it was 'too sweet' ... like she's Oz Clark or something. Very nice restarant, this is a must. I really should have taken an English girl with me.

The best service we have ever received in a restaurant! We think that because we booked via Tob Table they thought we were critics! When we left they presented us with a book and poster! Good food but very expensive. However, a fantastic night out for our last night in Venice.

La Colomba's service and ambience were all we expected. The head waiter, Oscor was charming, efficient and unobtrusive yet attentive. The food was very good indeed, sea bass carpaccio and lobster salad stood out - as did the puddings: tiramisu prepared at your table and a superb mango potage with mint ice cream.

La Colomba, historically a meeting place for artists in the heart of Venice, is a real find. We dined there to celebrate our 20th anniversary and although the prices mean this is definitely a place for a special occasion, it is worth it! The food was exquisite and if you order the Tiramisu it is made at your table. The ambience is formal, yet slightly bohemian with an eclectic mix of pictures from a variety of artists. The Maitre D' needs to relax - he was unnecessarily worried about our review!

Excellent food and service but a little over priced. I paid 25 euros for a vegetarian rissotto starter. Nice bubbly welcome and the setting is unique.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
