Amazing and impressive drinks list with a superb wine list as well. Food was very nice indeed and the chef obliged in my special dietary requirements which was a big plus.

Food - very good, small/medium portions, good quality although quail had a few small bones in the meat Service - could've been a little more prompty, but generally very good. Wine waiter was very good and helped me to choose a nice-tasting wine that went well with the meail Value for money - not bad, 2 courses + 1/3 bottle of wine = £40 Ambience - good, would suit romantic evenings and casual dinners with friends/family

My wife and I had lunch at the Hotel du Vin - York for her birthday. The meal was excellent, beautifully presented and the tastes were divine. They also piped Happy Birthday on her dessert plate, nice touch!

Hotel du Vin Bistro was very stylist with the food to back it up with. Service was very attentive and this was found throughout the Hotel as we stayed here as well. Would go again if in York and go to others around UK.

Simply brilliant, the food and service went far beyond our expectations. In addition to the waiting staff a special mention must go to Serge, the best cocktail waiter I have ever come across.

This was our second visit to Hotel du Vin in York. We think it is probably the best restaurant in York at the present time. Although being a Monday evening and very quiet we were made to feel very welcome. Will certainly eat there again.

I would give Hotel Du Vin 10 out of 10 the food was delicious the wine sumptuous and the ambience fantastic i will certainly be recommending Hotel Du Vin to friends and family! in fact i already have and we only ate there last night!

The food was well presented and tasty. Started with scallops followed by sea trout in delicious beurre blanc sauce. The sommelier was promoting the Alsatian Riesling strongly which some of the party found not too their taste and on balance we preferred our first choice of Chablis to accompany the meal.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
