This was my first trip to Harrison's since it changed from being Balham Kitchen and Bar and I am pleased to say we had a great lunch. The atmosphere was lively but cosy and it was good to see the open plan kitchen is still there. The food was delicious and the service great. We will be back.

Harrison's isn't that different from the previous Balham Bar and Grill, just a redecoration. But the service and food are better. Although not too happy with the much reduced cocktail menu. Apart from that the special Beef Wellington was brilliant!

Harrisons has broadly kept the high standards of its predecessor The Balham Kitchen. Food was very good, but service noticeably slow. We ordered a selection of starters, which arrived one at a time. Empty main course dishes weren't cleared for 20 minutes. Truffles (listed in the menu as 'perfect with coffee') arrived 10 minutes before the coffee. Hopefully, these teething problems will be ironed out, because the food really is good. The fish pie is excellent - and the trifle was sensational!

We had breakfast at Harrisons, arrived on the cusp of brunch & were offered both menus & advised that a large party were about to order so should order quickly to avoid delay. This was good service but it went downhill from there. Food was prompt but the waitresses didn't attend to us after that. We had to find them to order drinks & the bill. The food was good but stingy on the smoked salmon for the price of the eggs benedict. We weren't rushed though which was good. The roasts looked fab!

I have been to Harrisons a couple fo times and have always been impressed by the quality of their food, particularly the baked cheesecake! Being a vegetarian (but enjoys fish), I do feel that their menu could provide more of a choice of non-meat dishes as only one vegetarian dish appears on the main menu. As a whole though, I do enjoy eating at Harrison's and the staff do make you feel very welcome.

The food at Harrisons was perfectly presented and tasted delightful. I went for the Porthouse Pig as my main and this was cooked beautifully but maybe a little on the fatty side, although i think this was a personal opinion as opposed to anything wrong with the dish itself. The restaurant is well laid out and the kitchen being viewable from the restaurant is an excellent touch. On the downside the tables for two were very closely packed but I think this was only due to it being Valentines day.
