Set menu was simple but good. Chunky chips and honey glazed carrots with sesame seeds made the meal- both ordered extra. Only damper was both a starter and a pudding were forgotten. Bill when it came seemed a little over priced which we put down to price of drinks. Live jazz was great- if a little loud. Will definalty return.

This is the third time we have dined at Gershwins. The set menu had some lovely choices. We were rushing off to the theatre so opted for starter and main only. The steak was well cooked and a chocolate balsamic added interest. The beef stew was full of lovely new potatoes and the seafood pasta was buttery and light. Once again the music was a bit too loud but this seems to be a feature of Gershwins and we were all singing along in the end. Great for a pre-theatre meal, good start to w/end.

Gershwins Newcaslt is deceiving from outside I started to worry about the meal. inside the dcor has grat and calming and the food and service were nothing but excllent, We all had differnt desserts and shared and none of us could decide which was the most tasty. Value for mony was excellent. I do not have a bad word to say about this restautant.

Gershwins is a GREAT restaurant..great for pre bar/theatre.cinema drinks etc, good location, very good value food (if you go in the set-menu time slot), and quite a nice venue.

Gershwins is one of the most good looking restaurants I have been in. The mood lighting is great and on the whole eveything has a very clean and high class feel to it. The value for money was great, and even though the champagne wasn't great there is no arguing when it is free!! The toilets are spotless although personally I don't appreciate dimmed lighting in toilets, but apart from that they were better than satisfactory. The service was quick and friendly. Overall thoroughly recommended.

Gershwins was lovely and certainly the nicest restaurant i have visited in Newcastle. The underground location with fairy lights was special and you felt removed from the stag parties outside in the town centre. The service was impeccable and all the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend the restaurant for special/romantic occasions. If you are having dessert....get the brownie(found 8 reviews)
