I visited Fishworks on a friends recommendation and was not disappointed. It was my husbands birthday and we went there with our two young daughters, and the first thing we noticed was how child friendly the restaurant was. The girls ate fishfingers with chips, green beans and shallots and the fish tasted lovely and fresh. The only food remaining were the chips! My husband and I shared a platter which was gorgeous, the fish was cooked to perfection. We will definitely visit again.

Fishworks had an interesting menu that was well prepared. The fish was fresh and the sides were also good. Service was pleasant and timing appropriate. The ambience was not ok but felt more lunch than £40-50 per head dinner. Would go again when looking for good fish.

I would recommend this restaurant for the food alone! I had the scallops which were amazing (buttery and melt in the mouth). The sea bass was grilled to perfection. My companion had the squid followed by tuna, again both could not be faulted.

Fishworks is a great concept and fits in perfectly in the villagey atmosphere of Primrose Hill. The fish is excellent but you really do pay for that (unless you're on a half price Toptable deal!). Service seemed to struggle at times, running out of rose wine, for example. And you have to be prepared for quite a lot of what you really fancy to be unavailable - for example no lobsters at 7.00pm on a weekday evening.......

Fishworks Primrose Hill. The food was overpriced, not properly cooked and poorly served.

The food was absolutely gorgeous, and with the 50% off we only spent around £10 per head for starters and main courses, plus bread and dips while waiting for the starters. The service was a little confused and not entirely fast - but was always friendly and we still felt well looked after. The atmosphere was better than the Upper Street branch, as it somehow seemed more cosy and intimate.

Fresh, well cooked food that doesn't try too hard because it doesn't have to. Fishworks is a great concept and not what you think of as being a typical chain. Service was friendly but a little slow.

Fish Works is as good as it's name serving consistently good seafood whether buying or eating there. The Primose Hill shop/resto is a good addition to the stable and an outside table on a pleasant autumn afternoon was well worth the time out of a busy London schedule. Good winelist, tasty homemade tarama, delicious spinach side, my dover sole a touch overdone and the fish soup was a poor imitation of the real Med version, nonetheless prandial pleasures abound.
