Essenza was great. Great food and good service. The only down side was they didn't have the special of the day, even though it was still being advertisised (and it was far from busy) and the home made cheese cake (of which they only had one portion from their limited desert menu) looked as though it had been bought in? But don't let this distract you from the fact that the rest of the food was absolutely delicious. Especially the fillet steak. Yummo!

it was my first visit to essenza, and a bit of a risk as i had boked for a large number of people.we shared two starter courses, and each had a main courses.all were very pleased with the excellent food,service and ambience.parking is easy too just around the corner on portobello rd. i will definitely be recomending essenza, and be going back for more.

Although the service is very hectic at times, the food is wonderful and it is well worth a visit to Essenza. Reasonably priced for the large portions you receive, it deserves a 4 overall.

Dining at Essenza was a pleasant surprise. Upon walking in, we were skeptical - the ambiance isn't that great and it was completely packed with people sitting very close to one another. However, after the first bite of the appetizer, we changed our minds about the place. Every bite was delicious. I would def go back again.

Essenza is a perfectly serviceable and enjoyable Italian restaurant, perfect for a Notting Hill lunch. Its high regard is a little surprising as it's nothing too special but is pleasant nonetheless.

Four of us visited Essenza on saturday for the 9.30 sitting. We ended up having to wait around in the cold for the 7.30 sitting to finish. This was uncomfortable for both us and the diners who were being urged to leave. The food was good and the service was fine once we sat down. The menu is nice but there is a lot of repetition where they are obviously trying to be as efficient as possible. It was a pleasant evening but if we went again we'd turn up late to avoid unecessary hanging around.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
